Welcome to the St Fillan's Website
Introduction

Here we hope to offer you some useful information and give you a flavour of our Christian life here in this beautiful part of the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland.

Gauldry and historic Balmerino lie to the west of the parish. To the east stand Leuchars, home to the United Kingdom's premier RAF fighter station, and Guardbridge, gateway to St Andrews. The bustling villages of Newport, Wormit and Tayport form the scenic strand opposite the city of Dundee. The small friendly community of Balmullo borders on our sister parish of St Columba's, Cupar.

Week-to-week worship centres on our three small but distinct churches. St Fillan's Newport is one of the last churches of its kind in the country opened in 1896. In Tayport, designed by the architect Reginald Fairlie, sits arguably one of the bonniest churches anywhere, Our Lady, Star of the Sea. St Michael's & St Paul's, maintained by RAF Leuchars and shared with our Anglican and Presbyterian brothers and sisters, is open every day during the working week for private prayer.

Whether you are viewing our site for the first time or you are a frequent visitor, you will find not only a current timetable of services (See the Services Calendar for Sunday and week day mass times) and contacts but also something of our history and details of the events that renew our sense of community.

In constructing the site, we have endeavoured to create a site that is both easy to use and that is updated regularly. You will also find useful links to other local and church sites.

We hope you enjoy your visit with us and come often. Please feel free to contact us with questions or suggestions.

May God bless you and yours always!
